PEEK has:
- a continuous operating temperature of +250°C, short-term up to +300°C
- Excellent mechanical properties
- Excellent resistance to chemicals and radiation
- Hydrolysis resistance
- No outgassing in a vacuum
- Very good tribological properties
As already mentioned, moulded parts made of PEEK largely retain their exceptionally good mechanical properties over long periods of time at very high temperatures. The table shows in per cent the extent to which the tensile strength and elongation of PEEK are retained at ageing temperatures of 100, 200 and 310 degrees C.
