Although PTFE has excellent properties, unfilled materials are not able to withstand the mechanical loads occurring in many applications. Accordingly, a wide range of fillers were developed to lend PTFE the attributes needed to withstand such loads. The table below lists the most common fillers and their effect. It is also possible to use more than just one filler.
